Swing on into the water!

As teenagers get older there ideas of fun tend to change, they also tend to want to do more fun and dangerous things. One thing a lot of teenagers tend to get into would be rope swinging, at least my friends and I have gotten into it.

For those of you who don’t know what that is, it’s where you have a sturdy rope tied in a tree that you use to swing off of and jump into water. Some teenagers do this into ponds, creeks, and so much more. My groups of friends personally do this in a pond that we have in the back of my house on my neighbor’s side. The first time I ever participated in this, I was beyond scared. I’m neither a fan of falling especially when I know it’s something partially dangerous. However, once I did it the first time I continually wanted to do it. The rush building you up for it was beyond an amazing feeling inside. One thing you need to be extremely careful about when it comes to this is how tight and sturdy the rope is along with the branch it is tied to. Also, you have to make sure whatever type of water you’re jumping into is deep so you don’t hurt yourself.

Some people I know do something similar to this. However, instead of swinging they just choose to jump in but off different things such as tall rocks. Many people go to Akron Falls or any other places and do this. Growing up it’s just another way of feeling more dangerous and free. It gives us a whole new outlook on fun especially because the things we did as a child don’t particularly keep us entertained like they used to. At one point in time, everybody gets this way.

I find it as a way of being able to hang out with friends while feeling free and having fun. It’s definitely a way to cool down and fills you with such an amazing rush. For those of you who do this or something similar and for those who plan on someday trying it, you must be very careful because it can be slightly dangerous.
